Mountain Ash Practices to Merge
As many of you will be aware there is a new Primary Care Centre currently under construction in Mountain Ash town centre. Both surgeries in the town have been heavily involved in this exciting development for many years and are pleased to inform you that Cynon Vale Medical Practice and Rhos House Surgery will be merging from the 1st of October 2020 into a new practice named ‘Meddygfa Glan Cynon Surgery’.
This practice merger and new building will allow us to extend the medical services we already provide and will ensure our future sustainability as a primary care provider for the people of Mountain Ash and the surrounding areas.
Things will initially continue as they are for the patients registered with both practices. The practices will continue to be open from 8.00am to 6.30pm every day (Monday to Friday). The GPs and nurses will continue to run telephone, video and face-to-face surgeries and clinics from both sites and the receptionists will still be available at both surgeries to deal with any queries that you may have. The ‘telephone first’ and the online ‘e-consult’ service that both surgeries are currently using as a response to the COVID crisis, are set to continue for the foreseeable future.
The new Primary Care Centre is due for completion in January 2021. Once operational, the newly merged practice will move from our current premises (at 8 Cardiff Road, 55 Oxford Street and Pryce Street) to this fantastic new centre. This new and purpose-built facility will help us deliver an improved primary care service to the population of Mountain Ash from this. All patients will be contacted again with further details prior to moving into the new premises.
We have sent a copy of this announcement to every household registered with our two practices by letter and we would be grateful if you would share this information with other members in your family/household.
We will ensure our websites are continually updated with information regarding the merge and move and would like to thank all our patients for your continued support.
